unfairness.

The Prize Doesn’t Always Go To The Most Deserving

Irena Sendler

1910-2008

A 98 year-old German woman named Irena Sendler recently died. During WWII, Irena worked in the Warsaw Ghetto as a plumbing/sewer specialist. Irena smuggled Jewish children out; infants in the bottom of the tool box she carried and older children in a burlap sack she carried in the back of her truck. She also had a dog in the back that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in and out of the ghetto. The soldiers wanted nothing to do with the dog, and the barking covered the kids’ and infants’ noises. Irena managed to smuggle out and save 2500 children. She eventually was caught, and the Nazis broke both her legs, arms and beat her severely. Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she smuggled out and kept them in a glass jar buried under a tree in her backyard. After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived and reunited some of the families. Most had been killed. She helped those children get placement into foster family homes or adopted.

Last year Irena was up for the Nobel Peace Prize. She was not selected. Al Gore won - for a slide show on Global Warming.

CANNOT RESIST.

                                         http://saysomethingsincere.tumblr.com/page/8

i was going to turn in already, but look what I found! :D

for colours and words.

I just love saving all them pretty photos. I know I'm wrong, I know I really shouldn't, at least not without crediting others, but when I'm really gripped and fascinated by those colours- be it those sharp glaring ones or those with soft pastel colours- I just go "click, click, click" and save them into my pendrive. I love all of them, and I can spend hours and hours, looking and browsing through many websites just to find them. I believe these photos sometimes... tell people about yourself. Well, kinda.

Like if someone likes bright cheery colours, you could quite possibly say he or she has quite a positive outlook in life? That he or she is a relatively happy person? Haha, well I'm not sure about what you think, but to me, he or she is. The same applies for pessimists: they probably like grimer colours. That's just what I think of course.

I especially adore those photos with quotes too. Some phrases can be real simple, yet very meaningful. Even one single simple word is enough sometimes. Like. "HAPPY" or "ACHE". A picture tells a thousand words. Or is that the right saying? Oh, nevermind, you know what I mean, that's my main concern. Or those love quotes saying "Our Forevers Go Together" or "I Want a Boy Who Will Build Me Book Shelves"  ;)

when will our last day as children be?

(19/365) our last days as children.

I don't know why, but I find this amusing:

So let’s say that theoretically I really like you. And theoretically, even though it sounds moronically cliché and overused, you give me butterflies. And just for kicks, let’s add that, all in theory of course, you may be the one of the most wonderful people I have ever met. And hypothetically, my heart beats ten times faster when I see you. Do you think that you would supposedly, and in the most theoretical sense… feel the same?

nothing much.

Surprise, surprise. I'm back, again. :)

Done with examinations finally. The ordeal of facing my results will come later. Well, tomorrow actually. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Claud passed her driving test today! Haha! It's unbelievable and I'm shocked to the core, but altho that may sound like a bad thing, I'm super happy for her! That means someone can bring us out now ;) Like "Hey, wanna go Starbucks? Be ready in 5. I'm on my way!" That will be perfect. Heh.

Feeling pretty much like a lazy lump of human now. I feel like napping, getting all warm and toasty under my sheets! but I don't wanna miss my time to (finally) blog either! See how dedicated I can be sometimes? Haha. My head's spinning and spinning too. Not literally, as in having a headache or anything, but I've been thinking a lot 'bout my career path again. I've decided to switch. I've always been more inclined to the design field, so I think I may be heading there. All I need now is more information on it, and I need it fast. Really gotta depend on Google now! I'll update on what I choose soon. :)

Btw, I need to feed my eyes. Patrick Jane, my older love, here I am.
